As quickly as the park opened, this morning I heard on our local news station that the park was already closed due to the ’swine flu’…  Temporarily.  It’s a bummer for the kids, but I can understand the reasoning behind the closure, it’s for the safety of the kids and the community… It will be opened again very soon, I’m sure.   

Don’t forget this Saturday, May 2, 2009 in memory of Joel and Crissy’s daughter Ashlyn who passed away April 21, 2005, there will be the Ashlyn Would Go Grom Round-Up surf contest, for kids 13 and under.   See you guys at the beach!

It was a beautiful day and we had a great turn out!  Thanks to everyone who came out to help celebrate with us and to the Texas Gulf Coast Surfing Association (TGSA) who put the contest on hold for a while so folks could be at the dedication!
