TEAM IN TRAINING UPDATE (marathon training)

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

I’m proud to say that I have just completed my 18th week on training. This week we only had to do 14 miles, but last week was our biggest mileage ever — 18 miles! I did it too! In pretty good time — actually better than this week. I even look forward to training and the thought of eventually not having to train every week kinda makes me sad. Yeah, you read that right — sad that I don’t have to get up at THREE FORTY FIVE AM on a Saturday to go RUN long distances. I must be experiencing what they call a runner’s high or something right now. because no SANE person would actually have these kinds of thoughts.

What keeps me going? Well of course Johnny, I think of that little guy A LOT, but also my family and friends and everyone that has made a donation. Thanks to you guys, I am one of the top 5 fund raisers in Houston! WOO HOO!!! Many thanks to ALL OF YOU.

I do have one more favor to ask. If you remember in the beginning of my fund raising campaign, I asked everyone to email me or post on the blog a song title (or songs) that inspires, motivates, or gets you pumped. I have been listening to the same play list with some of my favorites that get me moving, but as I make mile 15 out there Saturday mornings I need YOU to keep me going. Your music will keep me motivated to make it through mile 18 and eventually mile 26.2 race weekend in October. So please start sending me you music!

Thanks for your support! Jules

Joey won 2nd place in his age group

Of course Johnny got first place….

This was Sophie’s first contest, and she did really well. Okay — she didn’t even place, but don’t tell her that, all that matters is that she had fun!

This was her first official wave!

Johnny

Sophie. the great thing about the Ashlyn-grom contest is that everyone gets a medal, no one is left out, regardless of how well you did.
